Marcos A. Telles Director of Fine Arts & Bands Marcos Telles is the Director of Fine Arts and Bands at Seguin ISD in Seguin, Texas, and oversees K-12th grade visual and performing arts at ten campuses. Mr. Telles holds a Bachelor's Degree from Texas State University and a Master's from the University of North Texas. Mr. Telles has conducted concert ensembles that have performed in Washington D.C., New York City, the National Concert Band Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana, and throughout Texas. Mr. Telles has had consistent UIL Sweepstakes awards at four high schools in central and south Texas at the varsity, non-varsity, and sub-non-varsity levels. Telles has been invited to serve as a guest conductor for the Austin Symphonic Band in 2020 and a guest jazz conductor for the Harlingen High School Honors Jazz Ensemble at the prestigious Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, Illinois, in 2015. Marc Telles has served as an associate director and director for marching bands that have achieved numerous first-place awards, 21 UIL first-division awards, consistent UIL Area finals appearances and have performed at Bands of America Regional Championships as well as the UIL 6A State Marching Contest, four times. Mr. Telles is a member of the Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Fine Arts Administrators, Visual Arts Administrators of Texas, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Texas Music Adjudicators Association, and Phi Beta Mu International Bandmaster Fraternity. His contributions to these organizations included serving as a TBA representative, an elected TMAA CSAPP member, a UIL Music Advisory Committee member, the TMEA All-State Recorded Auditions Chair, and a public relations committee member of Phi Beta Mu. Mr. Telles has been the contest host for the UIL Percussion State Solo & Ensemble Contest and the UIL State Mariachi Festival. He has presented workshops at the TMEA and TBA conferences. He is an active clinician and adjudicator for concert festivals, UIL concert and sight-reading contests, honor band hearings, and marching contests throughout Texas. |
