Marcos A. Telles
Director of Fine Arts & Bands

Marc Telles is the Director of Fine Arts and Bands at Seguin ISD in Seguin, Texas, where he oversees K-12 visual and performing arts programs across ten campuses. A passionate advocate for arts education, Mr. Telles holds a Bachelor's degree from Texas State University and a Master's degree from the University of North Texas.

Throughout his career, Mr. Telles has led concert ensembles at prestigious venues, including Washington D.C., New York City, the National Concert Band Festival in Indianapolis, and throughout Texas. His ensembles have consistently earned UIL Sweepstakes awards at the varsity, non-varsity, and sub-non-varsity levels across four high schools in central and south Texas. Additionally, he has served as a guest conductor for notable organizations such as the Austin Symphonic Band, Harlingen Community Theatre, the Mid-Texas Symphony, and the Harlingen High School Honors Jazz Ensemble at the renowned Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago.

Mr. Telles has also excelled in marching band leadership, serving as associate and head director for programs that have earned numerous first-place awards, 23 UIL first-division ratings, and multiple UIL Area finals appearances. His marching bands have performed at Bands of America Regional Championships and four times at the UIL 6A State Marching Contest.

Mr. Telles is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Fine Arts Administrators, and Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity. He has contributed to the field through roles such as a TBA representative, elected member of the Texas Music Adjudicators Association's CSAPP, and UIL Music Advisory Committee member. Additionally, he served as Chair for the TMEA All-State Recorded Auditions and as a public relations committee member for Phi Beta Mu.

Mr. Telles has hosted major UIL events, including the State Percussion Solo & Ensemble Contest and the State Mariachi Festival. He is also a clinician and adjudicator for concert festivals, UIL contests, honor band auditions, and marching contests across Texas.
