Color Guard
The Color Guard is the visual element to the band marching program on the field. The guard is a group of talented students that are members of the Seguin High School Matador Band. Although some members of the guard are musicians, many of its members are not musicians and come from outside the band program. Members do not have to play an instrument to be a part of the Matador Color Guard. The purpose of color guard is to provide visual and musical color along with overall general effect to marching shows in the marching band.

Percussion
The percussion studio at Seguin High School consists of marching percussion, percussion ensembles, and indoor drum line. The Percussion Ensembles compete at solo and ensemble and also have their own concert in the Springtime at the end of the year. Percussion Ensembles give students a chance to keep developing their musicality and technique throughout the entire year. In addition, the Indoor Drumline consists of the same percussion instruments used during marching band season, but perform and compete entirely in a gym.
