Brad Samsen
Director of Percussion

Originally from Toledo, Ohio, Brad Samsen is in his third year as Director of Percussion for the Seguin Independent School District.  Mr. Samsen is responsible for all percussion activities at Barnes Middle School, Briesemeister Middle School, and Seguin High School. 

Prior to his role in Seguin ISD, he served as an Assistant Band Director/Percussion Specialist at Roma High School and Ramiro Barrera Middle School in Roma, Texas from 2015-2019.  Prior to moving to Texas, Mr. Samsen taught Notre Dame Indoor Percussion Ensemble in 2015, as well as Findlay High School Indoor Percussion from 2011 to 2015.   

Mr. Samsen is a 2015 graduate of Bowling Green State University.  As a performer, Samsen was a member of Dutch Boy Drum and Bugle Corps from 2008 to 2009 and Legends Drum and Bugle Corps from 2011 to 2012. Mr. Samsen also performed with Legends Winter Percussion in 2013 and world-class finalists, Northcoast Academy Percussion Ensemble, from 2014 to 2015.

Mr. Samsen's students and ensembles have achieved TMEA all-state honors, first division awards at the UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble, and have had top three placements at TECA indoor percussion competitions.  Samsen is a member of TMEA, TBA, and the Percussive Arts Society.
