Marc Telles Director of Bands Mr. Telles is beginning his third year in Seguin ISD and 21 years in music education where he serves as the Director of Fine Arts and Director of Bands. Mr. Telles has served as conductor for concert ensembles that have performed in Washington D.C., New York City, the National Concert Band Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana and throughout Texas. Concert bands he has led have earned consistent UIL Sweepstakes awards in the varsity, non-varsity, and sub-non-varsity levels. Telles has also served as a guest conductor for the Austin Symphonic Band. Telles’ award-winning jazz bands have received numerous superior ratings and “best in class" awards at festivals across Texas. In 2015, Mr. Telles was invited to serve as a guest jazz conductor at the prestigious Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, Illinois. Marc Telles has served as an associate director and director for marching bands that have received numerous first-place awards, 20 UIL first division awards, consistent UIL Area finals appearances, and has performed at Bands of America Regional Championships as well as the UIL 6A State Marching Contest, four times. Mr. Telles has a Bachelors' Degree from Texas State University and a Masters' Degree from the University of North Texas. Mr. Telles is a member of the Texas Bandmasters Association (TBA), Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA), Texas Fine Arts Administrators (TFAA), Visual Arts Administrators of Texas, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Texas Music Adjudicators Association (TMAA), and Phi Beta Mu International Bandmaster Fraternity. Telles has held various leadership roles for Region 11, 28, and 26. Telles was an elected member of the TMAA Committee on Standards of Adjudication and Performance Practices and was a TBA Representative for Region 28. Mr. Telles has served as the TMEA All-State Recorded Auditions Chair and is on the Public Relations Committee for the Alpha Chapter of Phi Beta Mu. He has presented workshops at music conferences, is an active clinician and adjudicator for concert festivals, UIL concert and sight-reading contests, honor band hearings, and marching contests throughout Texas. |
