Lane Palmer
Assistant Band Director

Lane Palmer brings a wealth of experience and passion to Seguin High School as the new Assistant Band Director. With a strong background in music education and leadership, Lane Palmer has helped lead programs to numerous accomplishments, including appearances at the State Marching Band Contest, the development of multiple All-State and All-Region musicians, and consistent participation in State Solo and Ensemble competitions.

Prior to joining the Seguin family, Lane Palmer served as Associate Director at Smithson Valley High School and as Director of Bands at Sharyland High School, where they developed high-performing ensembles and cultivated a strong musical culture. In addition to concert and marching bands, Lane Palmer is also a dedicated Jazz Band Director, clinician, and adjudicator, known for fostering excellence and musical growth in students at all levels.

Academically, Lane Palmer holds a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. Along with this he is TTESS certified appraiser reflecting his commitment to staff, instructional and student development.

Outside of the band hall, Lane Palmer enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with family. They are happily married to Robin Palmer and are the proud parent of two young sons—Hudson (3) and Holden (6 months).

Lane Palmer is excited to be part of the Seguin High School Band program and looks forward to a wonderful and prosperous year ahead.
